Baby Cramer at 20 weeks

Here's a copy of baby's 20 week scan (actually done at 21 weeks). It's not the best but you should be able to make out the face looking straight at you in the top left-hand corner. It's really blurry because baby just wouldn't stop moving!

Everything with baby is fine, and all measurements are spot on for 21 weeks. We have to go back to have another scan at 32 weeks as my placenta is low, but apparently 90% move up as the uterus grows - so nothing to worry about yet. For those of you wondering - yes we did find out what sex baby is - but as some of you have told us you want a surprise, you'll have to email us to find out if you really want to know!

We've had a busy couple of months since the last update -

Late July I spent a very entertaining evening at my cousin Heather's hens night in Ipswich with most of my aunties and girly cousins - not sure I would recommend a night out with the girls and not drinking, but great fun was had by all - except perhaps the restaurant staff!

Early August saw us at Angus' birthday party in Clapham with a beach party theme and lots of fit bods in sarongs (you get the picture) - a fantastic night.

We caught up with Sarah and Lincoln sometime in the middle of August - on a brief visit to London as part of their round the world OE. Was lovely to see them and hear news from home.

My Mum flew in on Saturday 24 August - we took her up to Colchester on the Sunday and surprised her brother (my Uncle Tim) for his birthday. Stayed at Auntie Gill's overnight, visited my cousin Lucie and her boyfriend Mark in their brand new house and headed back to London in the evening. Tuesday Mum caught up with a school friend and the three of us visited Buckingham Palace - only open while the Queen is up in Balmoral for the summer. Wednesday Marc and I took Mum out to Bluewater (largest shopping centre in Europe) and she had fun in Mothercare - needless to say baby has some nice pressies! On Thursday Ali flew in from Canada, and although shattered Ali, Mum and I went to the theatre to see My Fair Lady that evening (had to prod Ali a couple of times to wake her up!). Friday saw the three girls up Oxford Street shopping (again!), and then Saturday we all headed up to Ipswich for my cousin Heather's wedding to Tony. This was the first family wedding (apart from Marc and mine) that Mum and Ali have ever been too - Mum left the UK before any of her brothers or sisters got married and hasn't been here for any of my cousins' weddings. It was a lovely sunny day and nice to have nearly all the family there. We partied until the wee small hours - and there were a few sore heads and unwell people the next day!

Mum then headed off to Congresbury (Bristol area) with her brother Peter and family, and Ali came back to London with us. Ali spent her week catching up with friends in London and on Friday Marc, Ali and I headed down for the weekend (and to bring Mum back). After a four hour drive there, we had dinner and by the time I headed off to bed just after midnight the six that were drinking had finished nine bottles of wine and were starting on the liqueurs. Needless to say Marc was woken up sometime in the middle of the night to hear his mother in-law talking to the big white phone, and then later on Uncle Peter woke us all up when he knocked the TV off the chest-of-drawers in his bedroom - poor Auntie Brenda! Saturday was very quiet - we went out for a pub meal that evening, but not a late night! After a BBQ lunch on Sunday we headed back to London.

Mum and Ali are now visiting the rellies up in Colchester and Ipswich - Ali heads back to Canada on Monday (16 Sept) and Mum leaves for NZ the following Sunday (22 Sept) - so Marc and I will be up that way for the next couple of weekends.

We've seen the midwife again and we heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time which was absolutely amazing. Marc felt the baby kick for the first time this week. You should have seen the look on his face - it was magic!

Think that brings you all up to date - will try to update the site more often so you don't have to read a huge novel everytime I do this!

Hi Marc & Vic, great getting your news, can't believe how mumsy you are - and yet have the energy to keep up with all this social activity. Didn't know Jan was going to UK for a wedding NOW, I imagined she would be with you during your confinement so consequently I have this little knitted outfit - still in NZ.
I will send baby's parcel nearer to christmas and catch up with Jan first.

Look after yourselves, love your website, well done!

Fondest love

Sue and David
